Glasgow City Chambers

This shows some of the images that I captured during the Doors Open festival in Glasgow.

The beautiful Italian style City Chambers in Glasgow is breathtaking and showcases just how rich Glasgow was as the “second city of the empire”.

It is a shame that this building and a lot of the grand buildings that still stand today in Glasgow were built on the slave trade by the wealthy tobacco merchants. Something that should definitely be at the the forefront of people’s minds when they walk about in awe of these structures.
